Entertainment Guide
Roesy’s work bares the influence of the ancient Irish guilds of story telling, lyric poetry and folk song. His music is informed by ‘The Tradition’ and could be said to be directly inspired by its songs and tunes. He is not, however, a traditional performer in the literal sense. Rather, Roesy’s melodies have the presence to seem familiar while remaining distinctly his own; impossible to ignore or dismiss.

Award-winning duo 'Nick and Liesl' have just returned from the Swedish winter & their 5th European tour (including performances on French TV, Reeperbahn Festival & German national radio) to kick off this years summer touring with a bang, playing to packed venues at the Woodford Folk Festival. Their sound is a beautiful combination of earthy, life affirming lyrics, dreamy harmonies and a mixture of guitar and piano driven songs. Stylistically they cover quite a range; from stripped-back and intimate folk to alternative, pop and soul; but the voices and the harmonies remain throughout, making their sound instantly recognisable.
